Fayetteville Traditional Dance Society
The Fayetteville Traditional Dance Society is dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of traditional American dance and music.
There are currently no scheduled contra dances for early 2023. We plan to resume regular dances this Winter or early Spring. You can get the latest information on this site or join our email list below.
Location:
We are at the American Legion Post 27 at 1195 S. Curtis Ave in Fayetteville (see the map below).
You can look forward to an evening full of contras, squares, circles, and waltzes. Admission is $10 for two hours of fun and fellowship. All dances are taught and called. No previous experience or partner is required. It’s easy and fun. Just a short walk through lesson and you’re ready to dance!
COVID Restrictions
The Arkansas Department of Health currently lists Washington County COVID infection rate as low. Under these conditions, masks are not required but please feel free to wear one if you wish. We will have available and encourage the generous use of hand sanitizer during the dance. Again, if you do not feel well, please stay home.
FTDS dances are open to the public and are non-smoking. Dress is casual and we recommend flat comfortable shoes. The dance begins at 7:00pm with a short beginner instruction.
All of our dances have live music provided by The Old 78s. You can find them at theold78s.com .
Contra Dance: 7:00-9:00pm
Admission: $10
There is plenty of parking next to the building.
