Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the monthly FTDS contra dances have been cancelled until further notice. In addition to this web site, we will send notification of any changes through our mail-list. If you are not currently receiving email reminders, you can sign up at the bottom of this page. Please stay safe we hope to see all you smiling faces soon.
Our monthly contra dances are normally the 3rd Saturday of each month. It is an evening full of contras, squares, circles, and waltzes. Admission is only $5 for two hours of fun and fellowship. All dances are taught and called. No previous experience or partner is required. It’s easy and fun. Just a short walk through lesson and you’re ready to dance!
FTDS dances are open to the public and are non-smoking. Dress is casual and we recommend flat comfortable shoes. The doors open at 6:30PM and the dance begins at 7:00 with a short beginner instruction.
Beverages will be available for a donation at the dance. We recommend $2 minimum donation for bottled water, $3-$5 for other beverages. All proceeds benefit the non-profit Fayetteville Roots Festival organization.
All of our dances have live music provided by The Old 78s. You can find them at www.theold78s.com.
